Forty years ago, 82% of the Chinese population lived in rural areas. Today, 58.52% of a total population of 1.4 billion lives in the cities. The report analyzes the transformations in China and the challenges facing a Brazil-China economic cooperation.

The debates, held in three panels, were promoted by the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), in partnership with the Academic Center for Chinese Economic Practice and Thought (ACCEPT), the Brazil-China Business Council (CEBC) and the Bank BOCOM BBM, and were sponsored by Vale. The report states that: "China is going through a period of great transformations that may represent opportunities for progress in the relationship between the two countries".
