The South American Perspective on Better Collaboration between South America and Europe against Drug Trafficking

The 14th edition of the Forte de Copacabana International Security Conference looked at the topic "Security Architecture: An Exchange between South America and Europe". This edition is a collection of policy documents addressing the central topics of the event, identifying challenges and making policy recommendations for the future.

"The South American Perspective on Better Collaboration between South America and Europe against Drug Trafficking", by Thiago Rodrigues and Carol Viviana Porto, is the fifth policy papers in the collection. It analyzes current national drug policies in South America and the political history of the dynamics of drug trafficking in South America in relation to Europe. The paper also contributes to interregional collaboration between the two continents.
