CEBRI/BRF/CEBC Webinar is Featured in the Press

Brazil's missed opportunities regarding the export of meat to China was the topic of an event held by CEBRI on July 6, 2021. The webinar "Perspectives of the Brazil-China Strategic Partnership in Agribusiness" was broadcast live on CEBRI's YouTube channel. This was the result of a partnership between CEBRI, BRF and the Brazil-China Business Council (CEBC).

According to Luiz Tavares, the Executive Manager for Institutional Relations at BRF, the lack of new licenses for refrigerating units from the Chinese and the strong competition from the United States are the main factors for the weakening of Brazilian meat exports to China. The event was covered in various media outlets, such as CNN Brasil, Forbes, Yahoo Notícias and IstoÉ Dinheiro. Click here to read the article.

Panelists also included the Brazilian Ambassador to China, Paulo Estivallet Mesquita; the Minister-Counselor for Economic and Trade Affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, Shao Yingjun; the Global Vice-President of Institutional Relations, Reputation and Sustainability at BRF, Grazielle Parenti; the Executive Director of the Brazil-China Business Council, Cláudia Trevisan; the Senior Fellow at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, Tatiana Prazeres; and the Vice-President Emeritus of CEBRI and President of the Brazil-China Business Council, Luiz Augusto de Castro Neves.
