CEBRI at COP26

Starting today, the 1st of November, you will hear about COP 26 nonstop! Over the next two weeks, the 26th edition of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Glasgow, Scotland, will discuss what countries should do to prevent and mitigate the effects of climate change in the world. According to scientists, these actions are urgent and need to take place by 2030-2050. Over the past few months, the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) has convened a series of debates on the topic, in order to contribute to public policies and to better project Brazil on the international stage.

The Trustees of CEBRI's Environment and Climate Change Program, Izabella Teixeira and Winston Fritsch, and Senior Fellow Ana Toni, who is also Executive Director of the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS), were interviewed by the Brazilian and international press. Izabella Teixeira, Ana Toni, the International Advisor of CEBRI's Agribusiness Program, Marcos Jank, and Senior Fellow Hussein Kalout, of the South America Program, are in Glasgow for the conference. Next Monday, the 8th of November, CEBRI will convene a plenary to assess the event's first week and discuss projections for the second week, in partnership with Uma Concertação para a Amazônia and iCS, directly from Glasgow, at 2:30 PM BRT.
