Inserção Econômica Internacional

  • 17 may 2017

Throughout 2016, the International Trade and Economy Program dedicated itself to investigating the main challenges and opportunities that arise when expanding Brazil's participation in global trade. This is of particular interest given the mismatch between Brazil's economic weight, being the ninth largest economy and occupying the 25th position in terms of its representation in international trade, according to data from the World Trade Organization (WTO). In this context, Karla Borges explores one of the new trade topics that permeates Brazil's international economic insertion: electronic commerce and the laws that rule it. Similarly, Rodrigo Lima addresses the potential of the agricultural sector for Brazilian productive and commercial activity, from the perspective of promoting sustainable practices. Finally, when examining points of convergence between the Agenda 6 International Economic Insertion of Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance, José Luiz Pimenta seeks to identify opportunities to expand regional insertion.
