CEBRI and EPE participate in Valor webinar on the energy transition

CEBRI's Vice-President, Jorge Camargo, participated in a webinar hosted by the Valor Econômico news outlet on the 24th of August, 2021. The topic of the debate was Brazil's position in the geopolitics of the energy transition. The webinar was part of a series of lives organized by Valor and also included the participation of Thiago Barral, President of the Energy Research Office (EPE), and André Ramalho, Reporter for Valor in Rio de Janeiro, who moderated the debate.

During the webinar, Camargo argued that countries will have to increase their energy production by 50% in the coming years to guarantee different energy sources, which is a challenge in the midst of the transition to a low-carbon economy. The debate also referenced CEBRI's Energy Transition Program, a think tank partnership with EPE and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) that aims to contribute to the country's zero carbon target.

The webinar is available on Valor's YouTube channel and can be accessed in full here.
