Celso Lafer Participates in Public Senate Hearing on Mercosur

On August 19th, the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense of the Federal Senate, under the presidency of Senator Kátia Abreu, held a public hearing with a focus on Mercosur, the Common External Tariff (CET) and the potential for the bloc's expansion.

CEBRI was represented by Minister Celso Lafer, who analyzed Mercosur's conception, emphasizing the responsibility of Brazil and Argentina in maintaining the bloc and Brazil's interest in regulatory convergence, not its fragmentation.

Senator Kátia Abreu highlighted CEBRI's partnership, the public spirit of our Trustees and the institution's role in promoting public debate aimed at Brazil's growth.
