The Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) co-organized the conference "Circular Economy: Governance and Scale", with the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the EU-LAC Foundation, Exchange 4 Brazil, and Circular Change. The event presented cooperation opportunities for the development of the circular economy for countries in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

With online transmission, the conference took place on November 22nd and 23rd and brought together representatives from the public and private sectors, civil society organizations, research institutions, and think tanks from several countries, such as Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica, the Netherlands, Finland, and Slovenia. The objective was to exchange experiences on the processes and practices of the circular and sustainable economy in different countries.

Among the participants were Bogdan Batic, the Representative of the Slovenian MFA, Gorazd Rencelj, the Slovenian Ambassador to Brazil, Eduardo Prisco, the Brazilian Ambassador to Slovenia, and the Trustee of CEBRI's Environment and Climate Change Program and former Minister of the Environment, Izabella Teixeira. Ana Toni, Executive Director of the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS) and Senior Fellow at CEBRI, moderated one of the panels. "We need to change the way we consume, our lifestyle, and understand how to connect nature with people," said Teixeira.

During the two-day seminar, examples of the practical implementation of the circular economy were presented, such as recycling, changes in extraction processes to avoid waste, and sustainable production models in the textile industry, among others. Daniel Chang, Coordinator of the Circular Economy project linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI) presented a project developed with Indigenous people of the Tikuna ethnic group for the sustainable extraction of açaí.
