Biography Rafaela Guedes

Rafaela Guedes is an independent consultant, Fellow at Igarapé, Senior Fellow at the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) and member of a panel of experts on Energy Transition at the Institute for Climate and Society. She has 18 years' professional experience in the energy industry and for the last five years has been working on energy transition and sustainability strategies. At Igarapé, she seeks to promote initiatives that are compatible with the standing forest by co-creating an ecosystem that accelerates the development of sustainable projects (e.g. restoration, reforestation, regenerative agriculture, bioeconomy, among others). As a Senior Fellow at CEBRI's Energy Program, she leads the Energy Transition Program. She has worked at Petrobras for 17 years, as Executive Manager for Social Responsibility and, previously, as Chief Economist, Corporate Manager in the Exploration and Production segment, Investor Relations Coordinator and in International New Business Development. She has a bachelor's degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a master's degree in International Management from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and is studying for a PhD in Energy Planning at COPPE/UFRJ.
