Biography Andrea Hoffmann

Andrea Ribeiro Hoffmann is Associate Professor at the Institute of International Relations, PUC-Rio, CNPQ Productivity Fellow (PQ2) and Scientist of Our State (FAPERJ); holds a degree in Economics from PUC-Rio (1991), a specialization in International Relations from the London School of Economics (1996), a Master's degree in International Relations from PUC-Rio (1998), and a PhD in Political Science/International Relations from the University of Tuebingen, Germany (2003). She taught at the London School of Economics (2008-10), University of Erfurt, Germany (2010-2012), and Freie Universität Berlin (2012-2015). She was a visiting researcher at the European University Institute, Florence (2002) and Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) (2017). In her teaching and research activities she works mainly on the following topics: Legitimacy and Democracy Issues in International Politics, Global Governance, International Organizations and Multilateralism, Comparative Regionalism with a focus on Latin America and Europe, and Interregional Relations, with a focus on Latin America-Europe.
