Context Notes

Global Alliances for Sustainability

In contrast to trade and digital regulation, multilateral solutions for sustainability and a global alliance around sustainable goals are not shaped by or dependent on hegemonic positions or center-periphery political considerations, and differences between actors do not derive primarily from positions of economic power. The present Context Note, resulting from the webinar "Reorienting Multilateralism", held in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, presents ideas on the relationship between sustainability and multilateralism.

As Anna Jaguaribe notes: “climate change and sustainable development are the most inclusive ongoing global concerns.”
