China currently has the second largest economy in the world, behind only the United States, and has been reaching ever-higher rates of development, maintaining strong commercial relations with several countries, in various regions.

The country has participated in the World Trade Organization since 2001 and is currently one of the main destinations for foreign investors. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) exceeds USD 12 trillion, and per capita income reaches USD 5,185, indicating its significant economic expansion. The country is also at the top of the ranking of world leaders at the technological level, investing massively in research and development.

The course Knowing China provides an overview of the country today and the prospects for the future, analyzing social, cultural and economic issues and the country’s relations with Brazil. The program's topics are analyzed by diplomats, businessmen and academics, who have a deep knowledge of the Asian country and its relationship with Brazil.
