The Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) has established a partnership with Climate Action, a London-based organization that, since 2007, has fostered collaboration among businesses, governments, and institutions to accelerate sustainable development and drive the global green economy.

As a result of this partnership, CEBRI will take part in the Climate Innovation Zone, to be held in São Paulo from November 6 to 8, 2025. Now in its fifth edition, the event will bring together over 4,000 global leaders from the business, financial, governmental, and civil society sectors to discuss the climate implementation agenda ahead of COP30, which will take place in Belém, Brazil.

The main program includes the Sustainable Innovation Forum and the Climate Implementation Summit, in addition to roundtables, private events, an innovation pavilion, and dedicated spaces for networking and collaboration.

CEBRI at the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2025 (November 6–7)

The Sustainable Innovation Forum 2025 will be one of the leading platforms for discussion and mobilization among private sector, innovation, and finance leaders, in support of the COP30 Presidency’s commitment to turn promises into concrete actions.

Held on November 6 and 7, 2025, within the Climate Action Innovation Zone in São Paulo, the event will convene representatives from companies, financial institutions, governments, cities, and civil society organizations to discuss pathways and solutions to accelerate the transition toward a low-carbon economy.

On November 6, CEBRI will participate in the panel “Critical Materials: Meeting Global Demand Responsibly”, which will explore how companies can ensure stable supplies of critical materials while meeting stringent environmental and social standards. The debate will address topics such as innovation in materials, transparency and traceability in supply chains, regulatory frameworks, and international standards. The panel will feature Rafaela Guedes, Senior Fellow at CEBRI, and Clarissa Lins, Member of CEBRI’s International Advisory Board and Founding Partner at Catavento.

On the same day, CEBRI, in partnership with IBRAM, will host the roundtable “Sustainable Mining and Energy Transition: Unlocking Investments and Fostering Brazil’s Potential in the Sector.” The discussion will be moderated by Maria Netto, Senior Fellow at CEBRI and Executive Director at the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS).

The initiative will present the main findings of a joint study on critical and strategic minerals, highlighting opportunities and the necessary conditions to strengthen Brazil’s mineral capabilities. Developed in collaboration with CEBRI, IBRAM, Cenergia/COPPE, CETEM, and SGB, the study evaluates how the energy transition will impact demand for critical and strategic minerals in Brazil through 2050, and estimates the country’s potential supply to the global market. The roundtable is supported by BMA Advogados, in partnership with the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), Cenergia/COPPE/UFRJ, CETEM, and SGB, with sponsorship from BHP and Vale.

On November 7, the Forum will feature a keynote address by Izabella Teixeira, Member of CEBRI’s International Advisory Board and former Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Brazil, who will discuss the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).

Climate Implementation Summit (November 8)

On November 8, CEBRI will participate in the Climate Implementation Summit, organized by Climate Action, Converge Capital, and the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS). Taking place on the eve of COP30, the Summit is part of the Climate Action Innovation Zone program.

Izabella Teixeira, Member of CEBRI’s International Advisory Board, and Maria Netto, Senior Fellow at CEBRI and Executive Director at the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), will join the panel “Transforming Ambition into Climate Action”. The session will bring together leaders who played key roles in the Paris Agreement negotiations to reflect on ways to accelerate the implementation of climate commitments and present concrete solutions to ensure a safer and more sustainable future for all.
