CEBRI participates in the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Conference of Partners in Brazil.

CEBRI participated in the 2025 KAS Brazil Partners Conference, held in Rio de Janeiro from September 18 to 19. The meeting brought together representatives from Konrad Adenauer Foundation partner institutions, authorities, academics, and experts in a space dedicated to international cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and the definition of joint strategic priorities.

On the first day, the 18th, the program featured a series of high-level activities. The agenda began with a lecture by Claudia Seidler, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Rio de Janeiro, who presented an updated overview of relations between Brazil and Germany, highlighting the progress and challenges of this bilateral partnership. Participants then listened to presentations on KAS's work in Latin America and the institution's strategic objectives for the new three-year period, connecting the work of partner organizations to ongoing political and social transformations.

The afternoon was dedicated to exploring group dynamics through roundtables and world cafés, which encouraged the exchange of institutional experiences and the development of synergies around future projects. These spaces fostered collaboration between different organizations, strengthening cooperation networks and fostering a shared vision of today's democratic and geopolitical challenges.

The highlight of the day was a lecture by Paulo Velasco, a professor at UERJ, entitled "Geopolitical Panorama, Perspectives for Democracy and International Cooperation." The presentation reflected on the reorganization of the international order, the risks to democracy, and the opportunities for expanding cooperation between countries in a context of growing global tensions.

On the final day, the focus turned to the future of the partnership. The program began with a presentation by Maximilian Hedrich, Director of KAS Brazil, on "The New German Government," followed by a presentation by Reinaldo Themoteo on KAS's editorial production in Brazil. Later in the morning, Anuska Soares presented KAS's regional programs in Latin America, reinforcing the integration of the work being done.

After lunch, the conference concluded with a collective discussion on thematic priorities for 2026, where partners shared recommendations for strategic planning. The activities ended with concluding remarks by Maximilian Hedrich, highlighting the importance of cooperation and the strengthening of institutional networks.

Over the course of two days, CEBRI actively participated in debates and activities, contributing to reflection on strategic issues such as multilateralism, regional integration, sustainability, and innovation.
A KAS partner for over two decades, CEBRI cements this historic cooperation by sharing a commitment to producing and disseminating high-level strategic knowledge.

This partnership strengthens the mission of expanding and democratizing international debate, fostering qualified dialogue and bringing diverse audiences closer to the significant global issues impacting Brazil, Latin America, and Europe.
