Hybrid Event

Energy Day: Energy transition and sectoral mitigation pathways

The initiative seeks to gather authorities and experts from different sectors to discuss opportunities and roadmaps for reducing emissions across various industries.
The program will be structured into three sections.

Two roundtables will address sectoral pathways for reducing emissions in the Energy and Transport sectors. Organized within the framework of the Energy Transition Program (PTE) in partnership with the IDB, BNDES, Cenergia, COPPE, EPE, FIPE, and MRTS, these sessions aim to discuss the project’s sectoral results and gather inputs to refine the final deliverable.

Following this, a discussion on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels will take place, focusing on the challenges faced by countries dependent on the oil and gas industry, as well as potential pathways to scale up low-carbon technologies. The key findings of the study “Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels: A Broader Perspective to Foster Implementation” will be presented on this occasion.

To conclude the day, a roundtable on Energy Poverty in Latin America will be held, organized by the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA).
