The initiative aims to bring together qualified experts from various sectors (public, private, academia, and civil society) to hold an informed discussion on the issues and challenges surrounding Brazil’s energy transition.
The program will be structured in three sections. The first will be the Transitioning Away Session, which will address COP28 commitments and pathways to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, while also presenting the key findings of the study “Transitioning away from fossil fuels: A broader perspective to foster implementation.” Following this, two roundtables will be held as part of the second phase of the Energy Transition Program (PTE), carried out in partnership with the IDB, EPE, and BNDES, focusing on Energy and Transport. The discussions from these roundtables will serve as inputs to enhance the final PTE-2 report.
Partnerships: Interamerican Development Bank (BID), Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) e Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE) Siemens Energy, Engie, Shell, ExxonMobil, Vibra, BP, EDP, Equinor.
