On October 5, CEBRI welcomed Sergio Besserman Vianna, President of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute and Professor in the Economics Department at PUC-Rio, to discuss the new scenarios in climate science and geopolitics.

Speaking alongside Armando Mariante, Trustee at the Brazilian Center for International Relations and former Vice-President of the BNDES (2006-2011), Besserman discussed the already visible impacts of climate change on people and ecosystems in various parts of the world, as well as the magnitude of future risks if effective measures are not taken to combat the climate crisis.
