Sustainable Amazon: contributions from Social Sciences, Multilateralism and Civil Society

August 5th and 6th, 2023

The Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Academic Headquarters in Brazil of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) and the CIPÓ Platform invite you to the international seminar "Sustainable Amazon: contributions from Social Sciences, Multilateralism and Civil Society", to be held on August 5 and 6, at the Hangar Convention Center in Belém (Pará).

Also part of this initiative are the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS).

The objective of the seminar is to discuss the theme of sustainability in Amazon, the contributions of the scientific community, indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the region, as well as to present proposals for action.

The event is part of the "Amazon Dialogues", a set of civil society initiatives that will take place in the days leading up to the IV Meeting of Presidents of States Parties to the Amazon Cooperation Treaty, to be held on August 8.
