US-China Relations: Japan's Perspective

  • External Relations

December 7 , 2021

Japan is among the countries most affected by the intensifying dispute between the two great powers. On one hand, it is the most important American ally in East Asia, with mutual commitments of cooperation and defense established in treaties that date back to the 1950s. On the other, besides being a neighbor, Japan has today in China a more important economic partner than the United States.

For this reason, the FHC Foundation invites to this webinar Professor Ryo Sahashi, from the Institute for Advanced Asian Studies, of the University of Tokyo, and diplomat Luiz Augusto de Castro Neves, who was Brazil's ambassador in Beijing and Tokyo.
