Considering the central role of critical minerals for the energy and digital transition and for the geopolitics of the 21st century, key priorities for countries with significant reserves and mineral resources—such as Brazil—include strengthening domestic value chains and advancing integration into global value chains, leveraging local competitive advantages.
This roundtable event will bring together leading policymakers from the mining sector and private sector representatives to discuss action plans for harnessing Brazil’s mineral potential across different regions and ensuring its effective integration into global mining value chains.
The partial results of the project “Brazil’s Role in the Global Strategic Minerals Agenda” will be presented on this occasion, including a mapping of Brazil’s mineral supply, the corresponding relevant regulatory aspects, the main associated value chains, and the mineral demand for Brazil’s transition.
By adopting a granular approach and engaging key stakeholders, the event aims to outline concrete pathways for building a sustainable strategic minerals value chain based on the country’s competitive advantages— pathways that can also be promoted in international forums such as COP30.
