Seminário Desafios da Política Externa Brasileira - Manaus

"Challenges of Brazilian Foreign Policy" is the topic of the debate held by the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) and La Salle College this Tuesday (06/13), from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm, in Manaus (AM) The event will be open to the public and will take place at the Auditorium of La Salle College, located at Av. Dom Pedro I, 151 - Dom Pedro, Manaus.

The initiative is part of the series of events held by CEBRI and KAS in all regions of the country, in partnership with universities and local institutions, with the objective of disseminating and promoting debate around the content of the publication "10 Challenges of Brazilian Foreign Policy". The initiative, which began in March of this year, intends to engage different sectors of Brazilian society in a regionally plural and decentralized manner.

The publication has already been presented and debated at Itamaraty, in Brasília, during the National Meeting of International Relations Students (ENERI) this year, in Goiânia (GO), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRS), and at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). After taking place in the Midwest, South, Northeast and North, other versions of the event will be held, in the coming months, in the Southeast region.

The seminar in Manaus will discuss the importance of defending democracy and promoting human rights as a challenge for Brazilian foreign policy and will feature the participation of one of the authors of the publication, Oliver Stuenkel, Coordinator of the School of Social Sciences (CPDOC) and Professor of International Relations at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).

Other experts will also participate in the debate:

  • Maria Laura Canineu - Director of Human Rights Watch in Brazil
  • Daniel Maurício de Aragão - Professor of Humanities and International Relations at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA)
  • Ana Núbia dos S. Oliveira – Coordinator of the International Relations course at La Salle College
  • Helso do Carmo Ribeiro Filho - Professor at the University Center of the North (UniNorte)
  • Juan Pablo Ferreira Gomes - Professor of the International Relations course at La Salle College
