Oportunidades de Pesquisa no CEBRI
CEBRI offers exceptional opportunities for international researchers interested in conducting research in Brazil related to the field of International Relations.
During his/her stay, the applicant must develop research directed at the following topics: Brazil in the World, Brazil in the Americas and Global Issues on the International Agenda. The research should result in at least one project with a focus on policy development, which may be published by CEBRI.
Researchers are hosted at the CEBRI headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to benefiting from CEBRI’s infrastructure, researchers may participate in events held by the Center and interact with top Brazilian executives and politicians.
To be eligible for this program, the candidate must have a master's degree, previous research experience, advanced knowledge of English and an affiliation with a university or research institute. Detailed guidelines for the selection process can be found in Portuguese and in English.

With a master’s degree in Economic and Political Development (Columbia University) and International and Comparative Politics (University of Brasilia), Karin has more than ten years of experience in management, research and political advisory with the UNDP, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, emerging countries and traditional bilateral donors.
Karin is a member of the Working Group of the Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) on South-South Cooperation and Development Policies in Latin America and is among the 500 most influential people in social media capable of forming global public opinion about the UN's work, according to #UNsocial500.

Liliana Diaz is a PhD student Energy Policy in the Americas, at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She is a research assistant for professor Francisco Gonzalez in "Energy in the Americas" course in the Latin American Studies Program. Liliana is also an energy consultant. Her topics of interest are the development of energy sources and markets.

Renata H. Dalaqua is a researcher at the On Think Tanks Exchange program, which promotes the sharing of experiences between research institutes and supports collaborative projects. In partnership with representatives of organizations from other countries, Renata develops research on the main tools available for self-assessment of think tanks.
Renata holds master’s degree in Political and International Security (University College London, 2011) and pursuing a doctorate at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation. She currently works as Project Coordinator at CEBRI.

A PhD student at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA/University of Hamburg), Christina develops research on emerging powers at the Hamburg International Graduate School for the Study of Regional Powers. She is a member of the research team "Power, Norms and Governance in International Relations" of the GIGA and Regional Powers Network (RPN), an international research network on regional powers. In her current research, Christina analyzes Brazil's foreign policy for Africa.
Previously, Christina worked as a consultant in the Department of Latin America at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consulted for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Sybille has worked since 2010 as a researcher with the Global Issues Division of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik - SWP), a think tank that advises the government and the German parliament on foreign policy issues.
Sybille has a background in Political Science and Economics and is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Science at the Freie Universität Berlin. In her research, she develops a cognitive analysis of international governance for renewable energy, contrasting the views of Brazil and Germany on this issue.

A PhD student from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Seth develops research on institutional solutions for changes in industrial policies. The basis of his study is the case of the National Development Bank (BNDES).
He has held the position of Executive Director at the Bernard L. Schwartz Forum on Constructive Capitalism, a research center at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and at the Leadership Academy for Development, which provides training in the area of governance and the private sector, to develop world leaders. Seth has experience in the area of international trade and has consulted for Ashoka: Innovators for the Public as well as the Inter-American Development Bank.
