The Chairman of the Board of Trustees from CEBRI, Rafael Benke, received the Argentine Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Dietrich, for a meeting followed by lunch on August 11, in Rio de Janeiro. On the occasion, were present the Argentine Ambassador in Brazil, Carlos Magariños; the Vice-Chairman Emeritus from CEBRI, Ambassador José Botafogo Gonçalves, among many others members of the Argentine delegation and guests. The lunch was offered by the Argentine Embassy in Brazil, and supported by ABDIB, counted on the participation of senior private sector representatives in Brazil and Argentina. On the occasion, Minister Dietrich presented, with the Secretary of Works and Tranport, Manuela Lopes Menendez, the new National Plan for Argentine Infrastructure, with emphasis on the investment plans 2016-2019.
The event is inserted into the line of work at CEBRI that seeks to promote discussions and actions that contribute to the development of a proposed agenda for international insertion of Brazil and the regional agenda for international insertion of Brazil and the regional integration in South America, generally, and for the bilateral relations between Brazil and Argentina, specifically. This event was based on the partnership developed especially with our counterpart in Argentina, the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), and also the Embassy of Argentina in Brazil, and was grounded on the capability of CEBRI to mobilize various actors in the public and private Brazilian sectors.
